When you're in your 60s and don't have children or grandchildren to worry about, you don't have to be concerned that:

1. They are incapacitated in some way and dependent on you.
2. No one will be able to take care of your dependents when you become ill or die.
3. Someone is unemployed, unemployable, in jail or in some other kind of trouble.
4. The kids want your money, sooner than later, and they're fighting you and each other over it.
5. Your child is sick, won't take your advice and you can't help.
6. A child is in a bad marriage, won't get out or take your advice and you can't keep your nose out of it.
7. A child hates you or dislikes you for reasons you don't understand or consider unfair.
8. You screwed up as a parent, many times and in many ways.
9. You wasted $40,000 putting an ingrate through college.
10. Your sibling's kids are better than yours are.
